David has had many musical influences in his life and they have clearly affected his writing and playing style. Some of these include: Kenny Loggins, Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, Michael McDonald, Larry Carlton and Gino Vanelli. He is an avid believer in the benefits of research and helping those less fortunate and therefore contributes a portion of the procedes from his albums to The American Cancer Society and The American Diabetic Association.
